GAX Pathfinder Society Event

downloadWho is interested in playing some Pathfinder? Chris Hawes is looking to set-up a couple tables and run a few modules Friday, January 16th, and Saturday, January 17th.

Tables will be open on Friday and Saturday from open to close. He is planning on having multiple tables open during the event to allow for as many players as possible the chance to play. They will be running multiple scenarios as well to give players a variety of adventures to take part in.

New player who doesn’t know the rules? Don’t have a character? Please feel free to contact Chris and I will do my best to help out. They will have pre-generated characters available to use.

Ohhhhh Yah! You know what time it is. Summer GAX is right around the corner and its going to be awesome!
In the mist of all this PC gaming I would like to offer you the opportunity to try your hand at a campaign of the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Rise of the Runelords. I’ll opt out of trying to use my own words to explain the game further and let Board Game Geek fill in where my words are lacking.

“A forgotten evil stirs in the ancient land of Varisia. Dark magic once more thrums amid crumbling ruins, giants gather in titanic armies, cultists murder in the name of foul deities, and maniacal goblins plot a fiery end for the peaceful town of Sandpoint.
Launch a campaign to strike back against the evils plaguing Varisia with the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Rise of the Runelords – Base Set. This complete cooperative strategy card game pits 1 to 4 heroes against the traps, monsters, deadly magic, and despicable foes of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game’s award-winning Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path. In this game players take the part of a fantasy character such as a rogue or wizard, each with varying skills and proficiencies that are represented by the cards in their deck. The classic ability scores (Strength, Dexterity, etc.) are assigned with different sized dice. Players can acquire allies, spells, weapons, and other items. The goal is to find and defeat a villain before a certain number of turns pass, with the villain being represented by its own deck of cards complete with challenges and foes that must be overcome. Characters grow stronger after each game, adding unique gear and awesome magic to their decks, and gaining incredible powers, all of which they’ll need to challenge greater threats in a complete Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Adventure Path.”

IPathfinder Card Game will be running a separate session of Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Rise of the Runelords each day. While each adventure lasts roughly an hour, there are currently 15 adventures that build off of each other so the length of your game depends entirely on how long your group wants to play. The game is best played with a group of 4 people, but you can play it solo as well if you wanted.
Seeing as how there is a limited number of spots available, you might just want to email me (Kurt H) ahead of time so that you can save yourself and your group a spot at the table.

Game On, Brothers and Sisters!

IMG_0383_convertedAll we can say is WOW!

Every year we see this event grow, and this year was no different. One of the biggest things was new faces! Lots of new people who showed up to play their favorite games with everyone else. We had out first League of Legends tournament, and the spectator area was cheering the players on!

We had people playing board games, card games, consoles… And even someone who was remotely playing a pen and paper table top game over their webcam link to people in another city!

Check out over on the Media page for pictures.

With the great response, and people asking for more, we will be announcing dates for the 2014 Summer LAN Party in the following weeks. Keep checking back for more information, or follow our Facebook page!

We will be getting in contact with the Four Hills Health region to arrange for our donation to the Children’s ward at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. People like you make it possible for us to continue to bring smiles to sick kid’s faces!

Until the next time…. GAME ON!

Last Minutes Stuff!

Whew. We’ve got a couple minutes before it gets all crazy again with finalizing set up and opening the doors for the hordes of gamers! Just a few last minute bits of info:

Wintereenmas 2014 News

wintereenmas

We’ve got our initial planning done, and next year’s Wintereenmas celebrations looks like it’s shaping up to be bigger and better than ever before! Over then next few weeks we will be finalizing most of our plans for the 2014 event. We have been scouting new locations to better serve the ever growing number of people that we expect to see. With your help, we expect to have around 50-60 people or more this year!

Keep an eye out for registration to open! Make sure to tell all your friends about the event. Remember: every dollar we can bring in is more that gets put towards a children’s charity to enhance gaming!
