PAX Prime opens on August 31

One of the largest gaming conventions in North America (it needs to hold THREE to be able to satisfy all the people!) is opening its doors on August 31.

“In 2004, the folks at Penny Arcade decided they wanted a show exclusively for gaming. Sure, comics, anime, and other nerd hobbies were cool, and those activities all had their own shows… so what about games? From that idea spawned a small 4,500 person event in Bellevue, Washington, focused on the culture and community that is gaming.” – PAX Website

Included in its activities are:

  • Concerts with names like MC Frontalot, Paul & Storm, and Jonathan Coulton.
  • Open console gaming
  • An exhibit hall where developers, vendors and publishes can show off their wares
  • Panels, which include Riot Games, Rooster Teeth,  Jens Bergensten from Mojang, and (of course!) Penny Arcade
  • A huge PC Gaming area
  • Board Games Galore!

If you will be in the Seattle area this week and have a bit of time to burn, then check it out!
